Why use a Public Adjuster?

Your insurance company will assign an adjuster to handle your claim. Why not just work with them?
That adjuster is there to represent the interest of their employer, the insurance company:

“Where there is a dispute as to coverage of the policy holder's claim, retention of an adjuster by the insurance company is not for the benefit of the policyholder.” Weinisch v. Sawyer & Allstate Insurance Co., 587 A. 2d 615 N.J., 1991.

Circumstances often arise where there are options to repair or to replace. If your carpet was flooded; should it be replaced or cleaned? If one side of your roof was damaged, should the whole roof be replaced or only the damaged section? Clearly, there is a conflict between what is best for you and what is best for the insurance company. As the courts have stated, the adjuster the insurance company sends out is there for benefit of the insurance company. You need Claim Solutions looking out for you as the policyholder.

Claim Solutions works for you — never the insurance company. Our fee is based on how much you recover, which puts our interests in alignment with yours.

How much do you charge?

We charge a fee based on the percentage of new money recovered.
The exact percentage is based on many different factors, but is generally between 5-20%.

NOTE: Some states control the percentage public adjusters can charge. We follow all state guidelines; the fee percentage is clearly shown on our contracts. 

Are all adjusters the same?

No, there are three types of adjusters:

  1. Company/Staff Adjuster — Works for and represents the best interests of the insurance company.
  2. Independent Adjuster— Also works for insurance companies and represents the best interest of insurance company, but does so through a third party.
  3. Public Adjuster — works for and represents best interest of the policy holder only, and cannot have any ties to insurance companies.
How much more will I get?

In 2010, the State of Florida released the results of a study on claim settlements with Citizens Insurance Company, one of the largest insurers in Florida. The study found that policyholders who hired a Public Adjuster reached settlements 574% larger on average than those who did not use public adjusters.
However, every claim is unique. There are several factors that determine how much higher the final settlement will be. We are confident in our abilities and proud to help people in similar circumstances to yours. When requested, we are happy to provide a list of recent claims we've handled. Contact us to discuss how we dealt with issues specific to individual claims to gain a perspective on the quality of our work — which is what ultimately determines the final dollar amount.

Is it too late to reopen my claim?

No!
Your claim can still be reopened. However, it does make the process a little more difficult. Give us a call to discuss your exact situation.

I'm pretty knowledgeable. Can’t I handle it?

If you have the time and knowledge, yes you can.
However, Claim Solutions can increase your chances of success with our thorough knowledge of the claims process. This includes extensive experience in construction and estimating, as well as many years working with our clients to get them a fair settlement. Are you sure you want to go it alone?

I have a contractor. Can’t they help?

Insurance restoration work is very different than your standard construction process.
Even if you find a contractor that is familiar with the ins and outs of insurance, they still can’t legally represent your claim to the insurance company. Only Public Adjusters or attorneys can legally represent your claim. Additionally, the majority of contractor’s estimates are not in a compatible format for comparison with the adjuster's estimate.
